With that in mind, here are two things the Foxes should do in the January transfer window…

New centre-back

Leicester City’s defence has been pretty solid in the ongoing campaign.

In fact, with just 15 goals conceded in 18 games played in the Premier League, Rodgers can definitely be happy with how things are unfolding so far. But looking past their centre-back duo of Caglar Soyuncu and Jonny Evans, the Foxes don’t have a reliable back-up option.

And granted, we shouldn’t look past Filip Benkovic or Wes Morgan, but the former is inexperienced at this level and the latter approaching his 36th birthday in January.

For that reason, Evans and Soyuncu have played 98% and 100% of minutes in the Premier League respectively.

With that knowledge in mind, one question needs posing – is this a sustainable tactic from the gaffer or is it going to come back to haunt him in the latter stages of the season?

Morgan and Benkovic may not possess the level of quality needed to ensure the Foxes’ excellent defensive record continues in the absence of Soyuncu or Evans, so Rogers would be wise to find someone who will.

Keeping the best

Of course, with the team currently being in red-hot form and flying in the Premier League, it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume some of their young talents might be happy enough to stay at Leicester instead of chasing big-money moves.

This is first and foremost concerning the likes of Maddison and Ben Chilwell, both of whom have been linked with the exit door in the past.

Needless to say, both of them have also been quite outstanding for the Foxes in the ongoing campaign, with the former bagging five goals and being rated as their best player by Whoscored, and the latter also dropping brilliant displays on a regular basis.

Keeping them at the club might be tough but if Leicester can do that in January, maybe we could see them continue this sensational run until the end of the season.
