da brwin: Spurs got their revenge on Arsenal as they knocked their rivals out of the Carabao Cup and thus claimed their spot in the semi-final – where they will face Chelsea – but once again, the clash was shrouded in controversy.
Just two weeks after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was subject to racial abuse from a Spurs fan, Dele Alli was hit by a bottle as he turned his back to the Emirates crowd.
Before the events unfolded, the away side had taken a two goal lead courtesy of brilliant breakaway strikes from Heung-min Son and Alli himself but, after the projectile bounced off his head, the Englishman decided he would get the last laugh by making a ‘2-0’ gesture to the offender’s section of the stand.
The response was naturally met by a chorus of angry Arsenal fans, who surely demanded the midfielder face punishment for the taunt, but the White Hart Lane faithful absolutely loved his actions – you can find the best of the reaction on Twitter below…
