WHAT HAPPENED?
FIFA announced the nominees for a whole host of The Best awards. The shortlist for The Best Men's Coach includes Manchester City's Guardiola, Real Madrid's Ancelotti, Bayer Leverkusen boss Alonso, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni and Spain boss Luis de La Fuente. Scaloni and Guardiola are the only two coaches from the list to have previously won the award.

FIFA also announced eight nominees for The Best Women's Coach award with USWNT and former Chelsea coach Hayes headlining the list. Other nominees include former Lyon boss and current Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor, former Barcelona and Washington Spirit coach Jonatan Giraldez, Brazil boss Arthur Elias, Japan coach Futoshi Ikeda, Gareth Taylor of Manchester City, Celtic’s Elena Sadiku and Paris FC's Sandrine Soubeyrand.

DID YOU KNOW?
This is the first time since 2016 that England boss Sarina Wiegman has not been nominated for The Best FIFA Women's Coach award. The Dutch coach has made it to the top three of the award seven times in a row and has won the award record four times.
