da marjack bet: Athletic Bilbao’s striker Fernando Llorente has emerged as a summer transfer target for Arsenal, according to The Daily Mail.
The San Mames centre forward has been a consistent goalscorer for the Basque side over the last number of seasons, and was a leading performer for Marcelo Bielsa’s men in 2011-12.
With inclusion in Vicente del Bosque’s Spain squad for Euro 2012, Llorente is set to star for the world champions and has a raft of European giants tracking him.
The burly attacker is in the last year of his contract with the Primera Division side, and is thought to be open to a move to England this summer.
However, Llorente has a buyout clause in his contract at around the £28 million mark, and Bilbao are thought to be reluctant to sell him for anything less.
The Gunners are keeping tabs on Llorente, alongside Montpellier’s Olivier Giroud, as a possible extra striker for next season.
